Hey Mead! Yes, I did quite a bit of work to find the first study that showed anything other than 3 feet. I’m pretty sure that’s the study that drove it. And yes, the face masks were supposed to be in lieu of the 6 foot distance, but the CDC’s lack of awareness of sociology created a powerful signaling device…

I’m also tired of hearing advice on systems problems from medical experts… Medical is a big part of the COVID-19 system, but clearly they have too few cross-disciplined systems thinkers at the CDC.

I always wondered where the 6 foot guidance came from. Also, for COVID-19 guidance produced by the CDC the 6 foot guidance was identified BEFORE face masks were recommended. Therefore, after you put on a face mask, then people should be not have to be 6 feet apart to abide by the intent of the 6 foot separation. Unfortunately, logic isn’t necessarily applied and sheep quickly follow guidance without thinking for themselves. Also, they claim that the EXPERTS said it and therefore they MUST be right.
